It has been more than 25 years since women entered the field of law in large numbers. Once the obvious social and political barriers were lifted, admissions of women into law schools grew exponentially. As with most law students, we once had romantic visions of what it would be like to practice law. We dreamed about what it would be like to be an attorney. We had high aspirations and set ambitious goals. And, as prominent women attorneys advanced in the profession and assumed more powerful positions, including on the Supreme Court, more women were drawn to the profession.

Despite the huge influx of women in the law, too many women lawyers, like many of their male colleagues, now practice law as just a "job". The passion for their career has waned. Some have felt it necessary to compromise their personal expression in the pursuit of professional success. Others have pared down their professional commitments in search of balance in their lives. And, more and more have been choosing to leave the profession altogether.

For most women, these are not satisfactory solutions. We believe that there has to be a better way. What we provide is a different way of viewing these challenges so that better solutions can be found. We can help you to redefine the issue in your own terms in order to open up new possibilities that are right for you.

Our approach is much like the practice of law. We begin by looking at your current situation — identifying the facts as presented and honing in on the central issues you are facing, as a woman and as an attorney. We examine the governing principles of your career goals; the expectations of your law firm; and, the responsibilities of the legal profession. Then, we analyze this in the context of your situation. We look for new ways to apply the old principles, much like expanding old law to new facts and creating new precedent.
